Contractors for the Moundsville Water Board will begin construction of water system improvements on 8th Street from Juniper Avenue to Henrietta Avenue on Monday February 12, 2024.

This work will require the closure of 8th Street during normal work hours, 7am to 6pm, to through traffic while maintaining access to local residents.

Proposed water main installation will occur on the north side of 8th Street (odd house numbers) approximately 5 feet from the face of curb.  This will require residents to refrain from parking along the north side of the street for the duration of the Contractors work on 8th Street.

In addition, see the following:

·         Contractor will utilize the north travel lane of 8th Street to stage equipment and stockpile materials during work hours.

·         Contractor will utilize the south travel lane of 8th Street for vehicular traffic.

·         Residence of 8th Street are asked to minimize parking of cars along the south side of 8th Street to allow for use of the parking lane along the curb for vehicle travel.

During non-work hours and weekends 8th Street will be open to through traffic, however travel may occur on temporary gravel pavements and travel should done so with caution and reduced speed.

Additional water main work will occur on Henrietta Avenue between 7th Street and 9th Street, and 9th Street between Ash Avenue and Henrietta Avenue.

This message will be updated in the future to reflect anticipated street closures.

Thank you for your patience during this important project.
