Boil Order Issued

Posted 04/17/25

Photo for Boil Order Issued

Please be advised that a 48 hour boil order is in effect for Purdy Avenue from 11th Street to Lafayette Avenue Lockwood Avenue from 11th Street to 14th Street Thompson Avenue from 11th Street to 14th Street the Jackson Street alley, and Water Street from 12th Street to the dead end in Moundsville.

The water service had to be shut off on Thursday, April 17th, 2025 for the Moundsville Water Board Maintenance Crew to replace an old fire hydrant on Thompson Avenue to ensure better fire protection for that area. Some customers may experience low water pressure while others may lose water service entirely.

The Maintenance Crew is completing the necessary hydrant replacement and will returned water service to all customers as quickly as possible.

For our customer’s protection, a 48 hour boil order is in place following the restoration of water service until sample results are received from the lab in Wheeling. Notification will be sent out as soon as the boil order is lifted.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this low water pressure or no water service has caused to our customers. We appreciate your patience while we are making this necessary fire hydrant replacement.

Thank you!

The Moundsville Water Board
