Boil Order Lifted

Posted 04/18/25

Photo for Boil Order Lifted

Please be advised that the 48 hour boil order for Purdy Avenue from 11th Street to Lafayette Avenue, Lockwood Avenue from 11th Street to 14th Street, Thompson Avenue from 11th Street to 14th Street, Jackson Avenue, and Water Street from 12th Street to the dead end has been Lifted.

The water service had to be shut off on Thursday, April 17th, 2025 for the Moundsville Water Board Maintenance Crew to remove an old fire hydrant and install valves and a new fire hydrant on the 6 inch main waterline on Thompson Avenue. This ensures better fire protection for that area. The Maintenance Crew installed the new fire hydrant and returned water service to all customers as quickly as possible. For our customers’ protection, a 48 hour boil order was put in place following the restoration of water service until sample results were received from the lab in Wheeling.

We just received word that the sample cleared and the Boil Order is lifted as of Friday, April 18, 2025.

We do this to ensure that our customers are receiving the safest and best quality of water available.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused to our customers!
Have a wonderful weekend!
