Moundsville City Council will have a first reading Tuesday on a rate increase for the sanitary board.

The average user would see an increase of a little over $6 per month.

The increase would go toward a state-mandated capital reserve and also contribute to a few other projects.

City Manager Rick Healy said council knows some people are struggling right now, but this is a necessary move if the vote passes.
